About Genesis Homes
A regional new homes developer with growing operational demands.
Genesis Homes is a residential new homes developer operating across Yorkshire and the North of England. The team builds and sells contemporary new homes across a range of developments — from boutique townhouse schemes to larger family home developments — and manages the end-to-end sales process in-house.
With a sales team of five, multiple active schemes and a pipeline of new sites in planning, Genesis needed an operational platform that could match the pace of the business.
The challenge
A sales process spread across too many tools.
Before Häuses, Genesis ran their sales operations across a combination of a legacy CRM system, Excel spreadsheets for unit tracking, email for buyer communications, and shared folders for documents and marketing materials.
The individual tools worked in isolation. But as the team and the number of active developments grew, the gaps between them became increasingly costly. The sales team spent significant time each week reconciling buyer data, updating unit availability, chasing documents, and manually preparing reports for leadership.
Disconnected unit data
Unit availability, pricing, build stage and reservations were managed separately. Status was often out of sync between the sales team and site operations.
Scattered buyer records
Buyer notes, contact history, and pipeline status were split between the CRM, email inboxes, and individual team members' spreadsheets.
Manual document handling
Brochures, floor plans, reservation forms and solicitor packs were shared by email, with no clear record of what had been sent to whom.
Missed follow-ups
Without a shared task system, follow-up reminders were personal and ad hoc. Leads with strong interest were sometimes contacted too late.
"We were a small team managing a big operation. The tools we had made us smaller, not bigger."
The decision
Choosing Häuses over generic CRM platforms.
The Genesis team evaluated three platforms: a major US CRM system with property add-ons, a popular sales CRM used by their peers in other industries, and Häuses.
The two generic options required significant configuration to represent a development, its units, and the property-specific sales pipeline. The result would have been a CRM that understood properties in theory, but not in practice.
Häuses was different. Developments were a first-class concept. Units, availability, reservations, documents, and viewings were built in — not bolted on. The team didn't need to explain how property works to the platform.
Property-native data model
Developments, units, plot numbers, build stages, completion dates and availability statuses were already built into the platform — no configuration required.
One-day migration
The team migrated from their spreadsheets and legacy CRM in a single day. All developments loaded, units populated, existing buyer records transferred.
Immediate team adoption
The sales team was using the platform independently within a week — without formal training. The interface was intuitive enough that the learning curve was minimal.
In practice
Streamlining operations across the team.
The shift to Häuses changed how the Genesis team operates on a daily basis. The sales director now opens the platform each morning to a unified view of all active developments — availability, live pipeline, open tasks, and recent activity across every site.
Development overview
One dashboard showing all schemes, unit availability, reservations, and pipeline value. Updated in real time by the team throughout the day.
Structured sales pipeline
Every buyer moves through defined pipeline stages — from enquiry through to reservation, exchange, and completion. No stage is skipped; no status is ambiguous.
Centralised documents
Brochures, floor plans, reservation forms and legal packs are stored against the right development, unit or buyer record. Email attachments have largely disappeared from the workflow.
Shared task management
Follow-ups, document requests, solicitor chases and viewing preparation tasks are assigned in Häuses and visible to the whole team. Nothing relies on individual memory.
"The biggest change was visibility. I can see every buyer, every unit, every open task across every scheme — at the same time."
Results
What changed after switching to Häuses.
The clearest immediate result was time. The hours the sales team had spent each week reconciling data, chasing status updates, and preparing reports were significantly reduced. That time was redirected into buyer contact and deal progression.
Reporting, which had previously required manual data pulls, now ran from live operational data. The sales director's weekly leadership update — once a half-day exercise — was reduced to a 20-minute review of the Häuses dashboard.

Looking ahead
Expanding with the platform.
Genesis Homes is now using Häuses across all active developments, with new schemes added to the platform before site acquisition completes. The team has started exploring the CGI generation tool to produce unit renders for early marketing — a capability previously dependent on external agencies and long turnaround times.
The next step is the buyer portal, which will allow Genesis to share purchase progress, legal pack updates and build stage news directly with buyers from within the platform — removing the majority of outbound email coordination from the team's workflow.
